Welcome to my Homestead!
Welcome to Pagan Homestead! Where I share my knowledge about growing a homestead from the bottom up. Have you wanted to build up a homestead? Do you not know where to begin? There is so much to learn to be self-sufficient and build up the skills to become a homesteader. Now, I am no expert, but just like you, I am looking to learn and grow my homestead and homesteading knowledge. From learning how to cook from scratch, to growing a garden, preserving food and food storage, to also learning more about how to incorporate Paganism and my craft into my everyday life.
Hello! I’m Valkyrie
I am a mother of two, a boy (age: 8) and a girl (age: 5) and I am a Pagan Witch. My boyfriend and I rent a cute little 1950’s house that is a little over 900 sq. ft. Our yard, being less than an acre. It is not a lot of space, but we make it work. There are a few challenges we face with building our homestead with our current location, due to the fact that we currently rent (like I am sure most of you do as well). So even though that does hinder us a bit, we will not let that stop us from learning and growing other skills to help us build up our homestead.
About Me
I grew up in a relatively small town, right next to the Minnesota River with my mom and my older brother. Between not wanting to constantly be freezing or being eaten alive by mosquitoes, my kids and I moved from Minnesota to Colorado to have a fresh start.
Growing up, I was raised Catholic but never felt like I belonged. Finding what beliefs my heart truly lied with. Recently I found Paganism and finally found what was true to my heart. I had practiced witchcraft in my teenage years, but as I slowly lost connection with myself in my late teens and early twenties. I am now 33, and I found myself again. Life can absorb us, and it is crazy how the people and events happening around us can change us without us even knowing it. It’s hard to not lose yourself with all the influences out there. Remember to always be true to yourself and be you!
Drawing and crafting are a few of my hobbies. But my newfound love has been cooking and baking. Especially from scratch. Learning the benefits of cooking from scratch has opened my eyes to all new things that I cannot wait to share!
I have two fur babies as well. My handsome boys Sir Marcus (my Pitbull) and SubZero (my fuzzy little feline who is a Siamese Mix).
Fun Facts About Me
I have a love for cleaning. Before my son was born, I was a professional house cleaner for 4+years, doing move-out cleaning, residential and commercial cleaning, new construction cleans, as well as some biohazard and fire clean up. I also have worked in housekeeping for many years as head housekeeper and supervisor.
I’m currently work at a hotel part-time in laundry. I gave up on management positions, so I could spend my time where it is needed most and that is with my family and my home. I wish to work to live, not live to work.
When my son was born back in 2015, I was a SAHM for 5 years before moving to Colorado and jumping back into the workplace.
Outdoors is my happy place! Do not get me wrong, I love being in my little house, but the outdoors are very important. We take hikes as often as we can. Being up in the mountains is one of our happy places. When long hikes are not an option, we still like to take short walks around the neighborhood.
